About the Faculty
Mordovia State University named after N.P. Ogariov is one of the largest educational, cultural and scientific centres in Russia. It is registered in international reference books on higher institutes of education: “The World of learning„, “Educational World„, “World Directory of Medical Schools„, “International Handbook Universities„, “High Schools of Russia„. The University of Mordovia is among 20 top classical Universities of Russia according to a specialities rating held by Russian Ministry of Education. It was awarded a diploma at the competition “The systems of providing qualified specialists„, held by Federal Education and Science Supervisory Service (2005). The University collaborates with Higher Schools of America, Great Britain, Ireland, Germany, France, Finland, Spain and other countries; it takes part in international educational programmes “Tempus„, “Fulbright„, “ACTR (American Council of Teachers of Russian)„, “DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service)„ and participates in Russian and foreign seminars, symposia, conferences, exhibitions.

Yulia Mikhailovna Trofimova
Head of English Philology Department, Doctor of Philology, Professor
Y.M. Trofimova graduated from the Faculty of Foreign Languages of Mordovia State University named after N.P. Ogariov, presented her thesis in Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov. She is an honoured scholar of the Mordovia Republic, a member of Dissertation Board in Ulianovsk. She has been a research supervisor to seekers of Candidate Degree and Doctor Degree. Sphere of research interests: text linguistics and comparative linguistics.
Valentina Pavlovna Furmanova
Head of German Philology Department, Doctor of Pedagogics, Professor
V.P. Furmanova graduated from the History and Philology Faculty of Mordovia State University named after N.P. Ogariov, presented her thesis in Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov. She is a full member of the Academy of Pedagogical and Social Sciences, a member of two Dissertation Boards on Culture history and theory, a member of the coordinating board of German Language Teachers Association in Russia, Head of German Language and Culture Society of the Mordovia Republic, a full member of Academy of Pedagogics and Sociology. She was awarded letters of commendation of the Head of the Mordovia Republic. She has been a research supervisor to seekers of Candidate Degree and Doctor Degree. Sphere of research interests: intercultural communication: language - culture - mentality (fundamental and applied research).
Larisa Yurievna Avtaikina

L.Y. Avtaikina Graduated from the Faculty of Foreign Languages of Mordovia State University named after N.P. Ogariov, presented her thesis in Mordovia State University, had a refresher course in France. Sphere of research interests: linguistic culture studies, culture studies.
Yuri Konstantinovich Vorobiov

Y.K. Vorobiov graduated from the Faculty of Foreign Languages of Mordovia State University named after N.P. Ogariov, presented his thesis in Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov, headed the Faculty of Foreign Languages, worked as an interpreter in Algeria and France. He has been a research supervisor to seekers of Candidate Degree and Doctor Degree. Sphere of research interests: social linguistics and Culture Studies.
Irina Aleksandrovna Anashkina

I.A. Anashkina graduated from the Faculty of Foreign Languages of Mordovia State University named after N.P. Ogariov, presented her thesis in Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov, worked in Mordovia State Pedagogical Institute named after M.Y. Yevseviev. She has been a research supervisor to seekers of Candidate Degree and Doctor Degree. Sphere of research interests: phonetics and phonology, language and culture interrelation, foreign language teaching.

Sphere of research interests: linguistic culture studies, social linguistics, intercultural communication.
Natalia Vladimirovna Liotkina
